Patti Callahan
This is a novel based on the life of Joy Davidman, who would become the wife of C.S. Lewis. It is superb. Well-researched, well-written.
It is the story of Joy’s last years married to her first husband, the writer Bill Gresham, who struggles with rage and alcoholism. Then it is the story of her budding romance with Jack Lewis.
This is one of the best works of historical fiction I have read.
