Widely considered the best modern work on prayer, Richard Foster’s “Prayer: Finding the Heart’s True Home” is superb. I have not read a book as helpful for my personal prayer life as this one.
It started slow, a bit tedious. But quite soon I found nugget after nugget, insight after insight, challenge after challenge.
The book is a series of brief chapters on types of prayer: the prayer of rest, unceasing prayer, adoration, intercession, healing prayer, contemplative prayer, and more. It became obvious that Foster wrote from deep experience. Here was a coach who could take you deeper in prayer, and closer to God, than you have gone before.
I urge you: Read this modern classic on prayer and see what God does in your life. You are in for an adventure.
