John Eldredge, author of Wild at Heart and many other books, has written a superb book on Jesus. It is fresh and compelling. It comes from a deep heart of love for Jesus. He writes about the playfulness of Jesus, the fierceness of Jesus, the generosity of Jesus, the honesty of Jesus. He writes about his cunning, his humility, his faithfulness. The last third of the book is an excellent section on loving Jesus, sharing your daily life with him, letting him be himself with you, allowing his life to fill yours.

He makes the strong point that Jesus has no intention of letting you become whole apart from his moment-to-moment presence and life within you. He has a challenging section against the “religious spirit” that fills the church and so many Christians.

All in all, this is a superb book. I imagine that you will fall more in love with Jesus if you read it. After all, it’s the point.
